Publisher’s Note

I am extremely gratified to present to you, the fifth edition of Lesotho Insights™ – A comprehensive Overview of Business, Development and Economy 2025-26 edition. We are now five continuous editions on the trop and counting!  In this coffee table publication, we continue to tell the story of Lesotho and its development agenda in many facets that define the growth trajectory, the culture and the potential that the Mountain Kingdom has towards changing the lives of our people and the motherland.

At the very onset, I must, however apologise for the delays in the publishing of your favourite book, it was caused by circumstances way beyond our control, and we are working tirelessly to make sure that this does not happen in the future.

On behalf of the team behind this publication and on my own behalf, I pay my tributes to the loyal supporters of our publication. From the office of His Majesty and the Prime Minister, the diplomatic community and corporate stakeholders, and our growing fanbase, we truly value your support. Your inspiration helps us to keep this fire burning.

We also continue to receive feedback that continues to shape how we present this book to you to make it more meaningful. The last two editions truly reflected on the bicentennial celebrations that we had and I truly believe that for those that have both of them, you have souvenirs that tell a story of the rich history and tapestry that makes the Basotho nation that we are today. Keep them forever!

We come at a time when the global order is changing. The dynamics of world politics and the economic landscape are no longer predictable. They have clearly rendered international relations more complex. Even worse for developing countries such as ours, where we see the erosion of foreign aid year on year. These challenges require our nation to be more resilient and seek to invest our thoughts in homegrown solutions. We need to be a more resilient nation with a government that remains focused and takes calculated strides as we navigate unchartered territories.

In this edition, we have maintained our  have also collaborated with vehicle manufacturers, who have a history of testing their new models in our lovely terrain. From this collaboration, we have been able to depict the beauty of the Mountain Kingdom from the perspective of our visitors. Then my best piece is the tribute that we make for Lesotho’s best exponent of the arts, the late Tsepo Tshola.

I have no doubt that you will enjoy reading through this edition and find value in our content. I also take this opportunity to thank our advertisers and the team that works day and night to make Lesotho Insights what it is today. Thank you!
